Tom is a retired business executive who spent 36 years with General Motors and Delphi Corporation. His last 15 years he served as Plant Manager for 5 different facilities in the US and Canada. Prior to that he had experiences in the areas of strategic planning, lean manufacturing, industrial engineering, logistics and production control and engineering research and development. After retiring from Delphi Corporation, Tom formed an LLC and began consulting with several large corporations. His work has included new business development, lean manufacturing implementation, individual coaching at all levels of an organization and classroom training in areas such as safety. He has also been recruited as a speaker to various organizations, including the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. He and his co-worker, Mary Miller, have published an essay entitled “Servant Leadership in Hard Times”, published by the Greenleaf Center. Their book has been the cornerstone of many presentations and workshops and is a summary of their experiences implementing servant-leadership principles while closing down operations at Delphi Corporation during bankruptcy. Tom is comfortable working with organizations at all levels. From strategic planning with the CEO to hands on implementation with the workers that make things happen. A graduate from Penn State University in Industrial Engineering, Tom later received his Juris Doctorate degree in Law from the University of Akron. He has served in various community leadership positions, most recently as a board member for the Ohio Manufacturers Association.
Mary Miller successfully worked in the automotive industry for 30 years; challenging and supporting employees, at all levels, to develop their individual strengths while positively impacting the bottom line. Mary’s career began with General Motors where she was provided diverse assignments in manufacturing, purchasing, production control & logistics, and engineering. During the second-half of her automotive career, Mary gained extensive experience in organizational learning & development and human resources management. Mary focused her strengths to create organizational effectiveness through individual talent alignment and development. Mary’s last assignment at Delphi was manager of salaried human resources where she provided human resources leadership to help Delphi’s brake assembly operations to achieve a flawless shutdown while focusing on the ever-changing needs of the employees. For her encore career: Mary founded her own leadership and life coaching practice — MTM Transformation Coaching. She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) who challenges and supports her clients to maximize their personal and professional potential by awakening their most authentic selves. Mary has been a featured speaker for the Greenleaf Servant Leadership Center. Mary earned a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Oakland University and a Master of Science in Industrial Relations from Purdue University.
