Steve joined Sophia Partners as a member of the board of directors in 2013 and took his current position as an associate with Sophia in August 2019. Prior to that, Steve served on the Fond du Lac Police Department retiring after 27 years as the Assistant Police Chief. During that time, Steve initially served as a Patrol Officer, and then was promoted through the department – holding the rank of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and eventually Assistant Chief of Police. In his final role, Steve served as the leader of the administrative branch of the department, which gave him oversight of several key department functions including personnel, hiring, promotional processes, training, policy development, budget and capital project management. In his years of service with the police department, Steve was directly involved in developing and delivering various training topics and content including that of servant-leadership.
Steve is a graduate of Lakeland University with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree. He also successfully completed Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command and attained Certified Public Manager certification through the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He brings his years of organizational leadership experience, development of leadership training programs and his personal modeling of servant-leadership to his role with Sophia.
