Patricia W. Morrill, PMP, BCPA, EDAC experienced her most challenging role in her 30 year healthcare career as a family advocate for her mother who died from a surgical infection, preventable harm. Since then, she has been raising awareness about patient engagement, serving as a professional patient advocate speaking, teaching and writing about safety. She is the author of The Perils of Un-Coordinated Healthcare: A Strategic Approach toward Eliminating Preventable Harm published by Routledge of Taylor & Frances in 2017 and is a Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) also credentialed in Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management (PMP) and Evidence-Based Design (EDAC). Ms. Morrill is the President of PM Healthcare Consulting, LLC, a small women’s business enterprise (WBENC) in Caledonia, Wisconsin. She is an active member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and is an affiliate with the Center for Health Design. She partners with executives in leading organizational change to improve quality and workforce satisfaction. Ms. Morrill’s extensive healthcare experience includes employment at two Midwestern healthcare systems, an architectural design firm, then her own consulting firm for the past eight years. She is passionate about using her knowledge of the healthcare industry to influence patients to raise themselves up to a partner role for safety’s sake.
